6 down, forever to go.

For my Husband, for our 6th wedding anniversary. He's my best friend, and has made me the woman I am today. The inside says "Not even death will keep us apart." People mess with us over our obsession with each other, but we love love, and love our love, and wouldn't have it any other way. I love him more than I could ever promise.

Hogs and Sketches #8

Here's my entry in the Hambo Hogs and Sketches #8 contest. I've been having a blast partaking in these challenges. You have all month long to do come up with something, and the rules are pretty simple. This is one of their free digis you can download if you don't have any Hambo images. I bought this paper a couple weeks back and couldn't wait to use it. My Dad just tuned 60. He's having an island themed party, so I went with this floating fat cat, which happens to go with the lovely paper. It all came together in one sitting, that is, after I spent hours coloring with my Copics and Stickles. I love the spots on the cat. Kinda gave him an alley cat feel. Stray Cat Strut ran through my head the entire time I was coloring. If you haven't already, check out the folks over at Hambo and have fun with us. I love their images, and challenges.

Mojo Monday #137

This is my entry for Mojo Monday #137. You get a new sketch every Monday, and the first week of the month is a contest. I've had this cute Ian image for quite sometime, and have been waiting for the right card to be needed. Well, babies are blooming like flowers this year. This one is for a baby boy to be named Micheal, after his Daddy, my brother in law. Yea new nephew to corrupt! This was my first time ever doing hair blending with Copics. I love them!

Mojo Mama

Neither my husband, nor I, have Mothers(well not anymore..we didn't come from test tubes silly), so I decided to make a few cards for my friends to procure for a nominal fee. Lost my job and can't afford any more scrapping supplies, so a girl's got to her her fix somewhere, right? I used the sketch from Mojo Monday last week. What's great about this card is I didn't have to color anything, yet it turned out beautifully. My husband says it's his favorite card I've made so far. I'm getting better at tying bows, though they still seem to be out to get me.

Mojo Monday 136

This is my second ever entry into a Mojo Monday sketch challenge. I absolutely love the layout, and you could choose square or circle. My only problem was the color scheme I wanted to go with! I cut enough pieces for 3 cards, all different colors, and stayed with this one. I took a little advice from Monica at Hambo and glued my ribbon on this time! Tying a ribbon is the bane of my existence. I'm glad I made it, though. I love the way it turned out.

Dahlia Garden

I love Fort Bragg, Ca. Foghorns wake you up in the morning, and the sea sings you to sleep at night. Full of sea salt, trees, and hippies, it's one of my favorite places to go. They have a HUGE botanical garden and within it lies a garden of the most beautiful flowers I've ever seen, Dahlias. I found them by being a part of a wedding in the middle of all these breathtaking blooms. There were literally hundreds, all different colors and sizes, some with happy little bumble bees working in them. I went crazy and took pictures of almost every single flower there. The pictures hang in my kitchen, and now they adorn Mother's Day cards. My friend actually suggested it, and I couldn't believe I hadn't thought of it before. Not only was this card easy, quick, and fun to make, but it brought me back to the peace I found in that place. I can't wait to go back.

Hogs & Sketches Challenge #7 April 2010

I have been having a blast playing along with the Hambo monthly challenges. So far I've won quite a few awesome digis. Here is my entry for this months sketch challenge. After last month's recipe challenge I was glad to do a sketch again. I love this silly birds digi. Colored with Copics(what else?), and Stickles. I have to admit, I cannot tie a bow to save my own hide. This purple bow gave me such grief. I'm glad it looks this good in the picture, because not two minutes after it fell apart, and so did I. I have since re-tied the bow, and let's hope it stays long enough to make it to it's intended destination. Get on over to the Hambo blog and check out the challenges. They're super fun, you can enter as many times as you want, and you get a chance to score some free rubbah or digis!
